Arundhati Bhattacharya is the first woman Chairperson of which bank?
Arundhati Bhatacharya is first Indian women and 24th chairperson of State Bank of India (SBI) and appointed on 7 October 2013. SBI is the largest Public sector bank of country India. She was born on 18th March 1956 in Kolkata, West Bengal.
By Fortune Magazine she has been named as the 36th most powerful woman in business in India. Arundhati Bhatacharya was a deputy managing director in November 2010, and also posted as MD & CEO of SBI capital Market. In August 2013 she became the CFO & MD of the bank.
She was thinking for leaving SBI around 2006, because she was worried for her children’s education, and in 2006 she was posted as General Manager in Lucknow.
