    At the time of Harshavardhana rule (606 A.D. to 647 A.D. ) in Northern India, Pulakeshin II was the ruler in South India.

    Harshavardhana was belongs to Pushyabhuti Dynasty while Pulakeshin II was an emperor from Chalukya Dynasty. Harsha was defeated by Pulakeshin II.

    A famous Chinese traveler, Xuanzang visited India in Harsha’s rule.
